Eye Of The Dreamer Productions - May 9, 2006
The Sword and The Spirit band is working on a new venture called 'Eye Of The Dreamer Productions'.
'Eye Of The Dreamer Productions' is a non-profit organization committed to developing and promoting programs through music, art, video, the internet and literary mediums that reach out and minister to foster and adoptive children and their families.
One of our 1st projects will be to acquire grants that will enable us to open a music and art studio where foster children can create from start to finish, their own music and art productions.
It is our desire to secure a facility that will house a recording and art studio by the summer of 2007.
If you are interested in partnering with us, can assist us in any way, or would like more information, please contact us today!
Music Mentoring Program - March 21, 2006
For every guitar, keyboard, drum-set or other instrument that's collecting dust in someone's attic, there is a pair of hopeful young hands waiting to make music.
Introducing The Music Mentoring Program, a new initiative being developed by The Sword and Spirit.
This drive will help move musical instruments from dusty old closets and into the lives of young people who need them and help to brighten these young lives by giving them reconditioned instruments to play.
The concept is simple…
Interested individuals will bring used but serviceable musical instruments to their nearest participating local music store.
The music store will appraise, clean, and repair the instrument.
The Sword and The Spirit working with The Department of Social Services, will then present an instrument to an area foster child.
Each individual donating an instrument will receive a receipt for the appraised value of the instrument and the satisfaction of knowing that their gift is helping a special young person develop a lifelong talent.
Share some music today!
We are also looking for ‘Music Mentors’ to share their gift and knowledge of music with some very special children!
Can you spare a half an hour per week to teach a child how to play the guitar, the piano, the drums? How about voice lessons?
Remember the pleasure you received in learning to play an instrument?
Give a deserving child an opportunity to enjoy that same experience!
There are currently more than 1,200 foster children in Vermont. Although the government provides money for basic needs, there are little resources available to help them enjoy many activities other kids take for granted.
If you are interested in becoming a Music Mentor or would like more information about the Music Mentoring programs we are developing please contact us today…

PLEASE HELP US SHARE THE JOY OF MUSIC WITH A CHILD!
The Suitcase Campaign - January 2, 2006
Imagine - that you are a child; in a world where your life is completely and suddenly torn apart.
You are forced to abandon the only sence of family you have ever known…
The stranger who has invaded your ‘home’, gathers a few fragments from your life,
hurredly packs them into a trash bag, then wisks you away into the unknown.
Imagine - the silent horror of a seemingly, perpetual car ride - to nowhere
You feel numb, a shroud of fear blankets your entire being leaving you rigid, empty, alone
You shiver – though you are not cold
You cry – though tears do not fall...
Are you aware that aproximately 1,200 Vermont children have been removed from their families and placed into foster care?
The Sword and Spirit believes that each child that is taken from a tragic situation and removed from their family, deserves to have their belongings packed up in a dignified and respectful manner.
Often these children's clothes and belongings are hurredly stuffed into trash bags or knap-sacks.
The Sword and The Spirit is on a campain to acquire suitcases that will be distributed to the VT Department of Children and Families.
Any one interested in donating suitcases in good condition, please contact Tony DeLorenzo at: tony@swordspirit.net
or call me 802-222-9623
If you have the abilty and are so compelled; please feel free to place a financial or other contribution in your donated suitcase.
Many of these children leave with little more than a few items of clothing; sometimes only the clothes they are wearing.
Thank you
